Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Bulldog Winch Emergency Tire Repair Plugs. These are going to be self-vulcanizing plugs, which basically means that they're going to seal up a hole or a puncture in your tire, and then they're then going to meld with that tire material to create a nice solid seal. This is going to be a 50 count box, so we're going to get 10 of these little sheets of five, so we can have these on hand for any kind of emergency situations where we need to plug up a tire. There's a lot of debate about whether or not a tire plug is a proper way to repair a tire. Some people say a plug and a patch or some folks think that patches are the way to go all the time. But, typically, you want to use a plug anytime when there is no worries about it being too close to the sidewall, and also, if you want to make sure that the puncture isn't going in at an angle. If it is, you might want to also use a path, but that's just something to keep in mind for getting your tire patched up.
A nice thing that you can get to go with this would be the Bulldog Winch Tire Repair Kit, which is going to be that part number that you see on the screen there. That's going to have a more complete kit, so you can ream out the puncture hole, get it cleaned up, and then create some edges for this to attach to.This is almost like a refill for that repair kit. If you've gone through all the vulcanizing plugs, this gets you a refill for those so you can keep using that whole set. Again, these plugs have a vulcanizing material already on them. They measure 100 millimeters by six.
If we put that into inches, it's going to be about four inches by about a quarter of an inch, so four by a quarter inch. And again, you're going to get 50 of these guys.All-in-all, relatively straightforward. As long as the tire is patched properly, you can keep rolling on that tire for quite a while. But if you're out on the road, especially if you're putting one of these guys into your road vehicle that's going to be going on the highway, you want to make sure that you take that tire into a tire shop, have it checked out, make sure that there's nothing else going on with that tire, so that it can keep rolling and you stay safe while you're on the highway. But this can also be used for ATVs, lawnmowers, just about anything that has an inflated tire, so you can keep everything rolling a bit longer. That's about all there is to it for these self-vulcanizing plugs.
Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, thanks for watching and we'll see you next time.
